This and that…
Ahh, so excited that it is finally Friday! AND it is actually sunny in Seattle and it’s supposed to stay that way the entire weekend. I am looking forward to spending some time with Scott and Decker outdoors.
This weekend also marks the beginning of our first DIY home project. We have decided to paint the entire trim in our house white. I was inspired to do this by Nicole at Making It Lovely. The current trim is a builders-grade medium oak color (bleh.) We are going to start with the office, which Scott has given me liberty to design however I would like. I have decided to go with this white furniture from Pottery Barn. And I am using this beautiful office idea from Jasmine Star Photography as my blueprint.
Painting the trim is going to be tedious, but we plan on taking it room by room and can’t wait to share the results as we progress. I also have lots of other changes going on in the house, including new furniture for most of our rooms and painting lots of walls and hopefully getting some crown molding added.
Another to-do on my list for this weekend is to get my Speedlite out of the box and start playing around with it. I ordered the Canon 480ex ii and am so excited to try it out with my Rebel.
I also hope to get a few meals prepared and in the freezer for the work week. Makes it so much easier when Scott can come home and pop something into the oven for us to eat for dinner. A busy weekend in the works, but that is the life of a working mom.
Finally, I just have to share this picture because it melts my heart and sums up how sweet my little boy is. He loves giving hugs lately and has never really given anyone “kisses” (i.e., opening his mouth up wide and slobbering) except me. He decided to let Scott in on the action and I was able to capture it. Just so much to be grateful for.
